Ko Lanta was my favourite island overall. It is full of places to stay and there are a huge amount of restaurants along the 21km strip down the length of the island. The beach and restaurants never really felt busy, we shared a section of beach with about 5 people at a time and because it is such a long stretch of beach you don't ever feel on top of anyone. The accommodation we stayed in was by far the simplest and the rooms were not very pretty or airy, but we were right on the beach and the atmosphere and vibe on the island was amazing. The people are so friendly and there are plenty of things to do and see.
We went and visited Lanta Animal Welfare, took a tour of the place and walked two rescue dogs. This place is run incredibly well and I wish all animal welfares were run like this. The dogs get walked about 3 times a day due to all the tourists coming in throughout the year and they arrange adoptions across the world. I could go on and on about this place. So glad we got to check it out.
We also went on our first scooter ride around the island, apart from an incredibly uncomfortable seat it was such a great experience to see Lanta old town and the sea gypsy village, we travelled around the island in a matter of hours.
Lanta, I love you.
